This piece is about ‘overthinking' - something we’re all guilty of. And it’s likely we all overthink more than we care to admit, creating blockers in our lives that don’t need to be there.
Stress, anxiety and fear are three of the most obvious, and common, causes of overthinking. They then cause worry, and worry breeds more worry. It’s a vicious cycle and it’s hard to escape.
But it’s possible. It just involves retraining our brains 🙂
We’re all capable of developing habits, and those habits eventually become intuitive. Over time, it’ll be the same with controlling your overthinking.
Step 1 is recognising when our mind begins to spiral downward.
Step 2 is taking measures to prevent it from taking control; Keep the focus on problem solving, challenge your thoughts, schedule time for reflection (like this frog does 🐸), learn mindfulness.
Do you find yourself overthinking more often than not? Do you know what’s blocking you? What helps you overcome the over thinking?
